TVS is India’s largest scooter manufacturer. Currently, TVS has launched five scooter models in the market. They are like Jupiter, Jupiter Classic, Scooty Pep Plus, Scooty Zest and Wego. In recent years, Jupiter Scooter has gained a lot of popularity and most Indian customers have responded well by buying it. The scooter is available in three variants Base, ZX and ZX disc. TVS has advertised it as getting maximum features and benefits under the slogan “Zyada Ka Fayda”. Let’s go through some of the key features of Jupiter scooter claimed by the manufacturer.
Mileage and performance are important buying factors for every scooter buyer in India. As the demand for maximum mileage increases, manufacturers tuning up the engines for optimum performance. TVS Jupiter scooter is installed with a new CVT-i engine. CVT-i stands for ‘Charged Motion Variable Time Ignition’, It is developed by TVS. This technology can create maximum energy for optimum air-fuel mixture without affecting fuel efficiency (mileage) in the cylinder. As claimed, this high-performance 110 cc cylinder engine generates 7.8 bhp of power and offers best-in-class mileage.
The Jupiter scooter is built on High Rigidity Underbone Type chassis. On which metal body panels are installed. This provides scooter with a lot of strength and helps in sustaining various weather conditions. The metal body also provides the required weight and improves on-road stability while riding a scooter.
Econometer can be a useful feature for people who want more mileage. TVS Jupiter has a CVT-i engine, which claimed to offer a good mileage. You can get maximum mileage using Econometer feature. It has two modes, Economy, and Power mode. If you ride scooters in Economy mode, fuel consumption will decrease and you will get more mileage as you ride in the range of 30-50 Kmph speed. When the scooter runs in the power mode, the engine will use more fuel and generate more power which can reduce the overall mileage. Generally, power mode activates beyond 50 Kmph speed.
Sync Brake System (SBS)
In most parts of India, the road condition is pathetic. We have to deal with potholes, uneven roads, and traffic jams on roads while commuting every day. In such situations, Sometimes it is necessary to stop by applying a sudden brake. At such times there is a possibility of a skidding. This usually happens when a fast vehicle is stopped using single brake (front or rear). TVS has come up with Sync Brake System (SBS) for distributing equal braking power to both the wheels. This improves the stability of scooter in the event of applying a brake in emergencies and also reduces the possibility of skidding.
Large 12-Inch Tubeless Tyres with Alloy wheels
Vehicle stability on the road can be increased with the help of big tyres. TVS Jupiter is equipped with 12-inch (90/90) tubeless tyres along with alloy wheels in front and the rear. Tubeless tyres cause fewer chances of a puncture and alloy wheels remains rust free. Alloy wheels and tubeless tyres are offered as standard accessory across all variants. This would be the added advantage for scooter buyers.
Telescopic Suspension In Front and GAS Filled Shock In Rear
It is very important to be comfortable while riding or driving a vehicle. For this, the vehicle must have a good suspension. TVS Jupiter is fitted with Telescopic suspension in front and Gas filled mono shock absorber in the rear. These are designed in such a way that the shocks/vibrations coming from the potholes are absorbed effectively while riding. Both the suspension offers a comfortable ride and reduces resulting back pain.
Dura-Cool Seat (Only Available in ZX Variant)
In summer, temperatures in many parts of the country reach more than 38 °C. When you park a scooter directly in sunlight, the seat gets very hot and then you may feel uncomfortable sitting on it. As a solution to this, TVS has introduced a Dura-Cool seat, which claimed to keep seat temperature 10°C lower during summer. Note that Dura-Cool seat is only available in ZX variant.
External Fuel Fill
At the time of refueling the scooter, you have to get down from the seat. Most of the scooters have under the seat refueling arrangement. Many people find this very inconvenient. TVS has worked on this and provided external fuel filler cap which allows you to refuel it without getting down from the seat. You may find this feature very useful.
E-Z Center Stand
It is very easy to park a scooter using side stand, but with the middle stand, it’s not an easy task for many of us. You need to push it very hard to get it on the center stand. TVS has designed E-Z Center Stand so that you will need an easy push to park on the center stand. Now you can easily park the scooter in congested lanes/parking areas.
LED Tail Lamp
Normal halogen bulbs are getting replaced by LED bulbs. TVS is offering LED tail light with Jupiter scooter. LED lights are proven to be long-lasting, brighter and low power consuming. These lights provide good visibility at night time.
